I’ve worked with hundreds of young people across the world who have done the same thing and are doing amazing things.

And you’ve been one of the first coaches to reach out with your own ideas, ideas from different angles. Did that influence your own writing or writing

Yeah It just made me question what I’ve always been doing - writing in a way that’s unique and I don’t think about a lot of other ways to write. I think I’m making things from scratch and working with the people I’m going to connect to on my own terms. I know what it’s like when I’m at the forefront, where life intersects with my writing.

Do you think you’re more connected to your audience when you can’t put those ideas out there until you’ve seen them

That’s what I look for.

Are people more inspired by your writing when they’ve seen it then not

I don’t have an answer for that but I hope so.

Do you believe in it

Yeah I do believe in it because I see it and because of it.

What’s it like being involved in your own writing process

It’s great I’ve been helping people read on many different levels over the past year. I like to give them stories that have become my personal favourites, and try to tell them through my work with kids at the end of the week.

It’s really been great to get a laugh, and the fact that you write to kids I really enjoy is amazing. So thanks for reading and I hope to find a way to take a laugh from my next book.

How do you feel about the new Netflix series The Good Life

I think it’s a good show. It’s been brilliant. There’s nothing very exciting about it, but at the same time it shows that what is new in us and what is happening in our lives is not going away. It is interesting and exciting, but the truth is we’re seeing a real generational transformation in how life is about us.

Is this really for the best interest of you

Yeah. It’s not really for the best interest of anyone. As an artist, and I know how to talk about it, that doesn’t mean it isn’t good for us to be there for people. It’s an incredible opportunity.
