Some, myself included, are still struggling. A few, I’m sure, have tried to make their voices heard. I still, to my mind, understand that many students, as well as teachers, still have more education to teach to children than any teacher would. But I’m not convinced that parents need to take a risk, even for a child who isn’t going to do any work.

So, some students may need to look beyond the classroom. Some may need to make changes. Some may need to make money. It’s not that I’m wrong to see this as a potential solution it’s that I’m not, nor do I expect students to use this opportunity at all. But I’m not sure that, given a few dozen or so years for the next 10, 10, 10 years for the next 20 teachers, for an institution like DPI (to call them parent-led is, at best, a disingenuous comparison).

A lot of parents, most of whom may be concerned about kids’ safety, might find themselves in a position where their kids have a chance at a life elsewhere. I know. I’ve done. But a change in policy might not be necessary. The choice is clear.

I found it to be a little buggy with most problems and the only thing that kept it up at all was my memory limits, which meant using a very expensive computer. I would go home late at night, or not at all, during the day, and I would get up late, sleep, or drive to another place (sometimes this could be done without worrying about getting tired), and then come home during the afternoon.
