They’re all based in the same place, in different corners of North Carolina…there’s a way for you to do it without having to leave your company forever. It’s an option for you all, and they will always be your company’s first choice…we believe in our people. We care if you give us your service. In every instance, we care what people think and love about you. But when you give our company the respect it deserves, you know that’s how they will be respected too…a lot smarter with the right people.

It seems like a different situation than where you now work in the NBA. You need to work in your community’s support network to get some recognition and support for what you’re doing in the NBA. It’s very rare for us fans to see you for what you are in a different light at a different time than in years past. It’s the same for your family and with so many other important community benefits you may not have been able to take advantage of. They would love you if you would help them through your struggles.

Did you ever have any thoughts on doing things like this in your spare time

Hmmm…I think it’s always nice to have a little more time with your family for your next adventure and to give your thoughts to the people you care about. When you’re in that position for yourself, it’s just nice to have new people in there. I don’t think it’s ever too soon to talk about that. I feel like just with everybody’s work ethic, especially if they’re working harder, you’d see a different attitude in the NBA as a whole. As long as they’re working hard, they’re making things happen and their motivation goes beyond basketball…you want them to get better.

I read the story of Paul George getting fired over his lack of experience with head coach Gregg Popovich at UNLV two years ago. That story didn’t sit well with any of the current UNLV head coaches as a whole because of what he was able to accomplish.

How does the head coach relate to the players and people who are at that level

It’s an honor to coach at Texas. My wife doesn’t come out every day but I can’t forget what she’s going through. We go to school together for 3 months and my life is pretty normal.
