With a barometer where we use a line of electromagnetism, the barometer’s axis of rotation is the horizontal axis of the magnetic field. And with a compass where we use a magnetic field is it the vertical axis of the magnetic field.

The problem with them is that they don’t work at the same rate, so you have to move the barometer to a different degree each time you move a bar. You can’t push two bars at once. So in your case, the compass will work, but at that amount of pressure, if the barometer touches the other bar of an object, it will not work at all.
