Mini tackle is actually a bit of an oxymoron, but I’ve been using it as far back as my early days with the original game and love it so much. Basically, the game is a short mini game about small-town life with big money problems. There are a few things I don’t like the level system isn’t as linear as they get with the regular minigame for some reason, the boss is a generic monster, and there’s no way to pick up items in the boss room or get money from the enemies if you have all that handy. The game has great visuals, and if you’re like me, and want a good little puzzle, you’ll want a lot of it.

A lot of the game mechanics are very much centered around your hero, but things change after time as well. For example, when you’re in a dungeon, it’s still a very linear dungeon, but at least you feel like you’re in a different direction rather quickly. When you reach a boss room in the main dungeon, though, things are more fluid. You’ll be stuck at the beginning of each level and not actually need to take anything from the boss to get back to it. The boss can be destroyed during a boss battle, but even this is a difficult battle, especially when you’re not really sure what to do if you have all of the items you need, when you’ve managed to get the boss in the beginning, you can walk away and get the item you need for the second party in a very short time frame.

This is not like magic tricks or puzzle solving, though. As soon as you figure out the first three or four sections of the dungeon by hand, you can get through it by solving them by using your imagination. What’s interesting is that even though the difficulty will be higher depending on which boss you fight, it still rewards you with a certain amount of experience and you can start going faster if you’re able to win. I found that for a game like Mini-Defense, there are times when I wanted to go fast for a single block now that was enough, I had other tricks up my sleeves, such as a simple way to kill off an enemy with an item or a very simple way to kill three monsters with a single attack. As for the boss that will hit you hard from time to time, there’s nothing to do about that. The difficulty is the same overall though the difficulty is also based mainly on the amount of
