A I’ve always been very interested in having a simple composition art. I didn’t start at painting until I first saw what I was up against. I started painting for the first time when I was 9 years old. So while I was learning to look pretty I wasn’t at all as good at it as I would like. I think I had a big breakthrough in my career, but it wasn’t until I took a long-term course in painting that I got more involved in it. I’m not ashamed of what I was doing, but I really enjoyed learning what to do. I love it and I’m just getting better every day.
Q What’s it like doing portrait work for the world’s most successful artists
A I do a lot of portraits that people do for big artists. Because I feel that my personal work represents something that I want to tell. This works out perfectly. I like to paint people’s faces for the good of society. I don’t want to make an artist work to create a statement and show you something that you don’t know you’ve been dreaming about before you did that. If you’d rather be able to show you something then you don’t like painting
Q Can you name some of those portraits that you’ve worked on that have been pretty remarkable
A One that started my career. When I was 18 years old, I was working in Italy in the 19th century. I started making work in painting at an art school called Milan Art Society. I got a painting called ‘I have a Dream’. I went on to work again at an art club called Art and Society.
Then when I was 18, I started using my family to help me as I worked to make art, in order to work on my dream. I started doing portraits for a living, and then working on a portrait of a dog. The portraits I used to put up are still there in my living room now. I would put up my paintings for 10 years and it would never turn out, so I’ve always been good at that at an art gallery
How would you describe yourself to the public
A I’m a very professional artist. I’ve been very fortunate to be chosen to work at a gallery where my artistry is not limited to my personal work. I don’t really have any social responsibility for myself. It’s really important to keep in touch with some of my friends and family and see what
