It’s a word that doesn’t really come up. I like to think that the best self taught artists can go on performing professionally. I think we’ve been doing a lot of the same shows over the last five years. What I like to believe is that there’s a lot of talent out there. So when I started in Chicago I was pretty good there. I got to perform about 10 to 15 shows a week and I really liked being able to bring my voice in to the show. As soon as I heard that it made me like the job. I think it would be great to be able to play one of the shows out here and be able to talk and just enjoy myself.

How many shows have you been in at the end of the year

I think about about 20 shows. And I’ve been doing a couple of shows in a month. When I say it’s 20 shows I think maybe two to three or four nights a week. It’s not like it’s a lot when I’m traveling, I can do about eight to twelve shows or whatever and we’re all just doing it. I think it’s fun to be doing and you’ve got to enjoy it and I think it’s fun to be a part of that. It’s definitely different and a lot of my shows have been sold out before then. That’s actually the reason I did it so long ago.

A Texas lawmaker has joined a growing chorus of Republican lawmakers supporting gay marriage.

Rep. Steve Stivers, R-Houston, called on his colleagues Wednesday to support the measure, which would ban same-sex marriage across the United States.
