How to Get Started

When you purchase a lens on Amazon, you should check whether or not your camera can be controlled remotely from your phone. It may be possible to access your phone through a simple call but you should make sure to follow the instructions below.

Step 1

Connect the Camera

Go to the Menu Accessibility and Features and choose the Camera you want. In the menu, tap the Connect button. Make sure your Camera is turned off or set as auto-detect. This will tell your phone which way to go and also what method to use to get started.

Step 2

Tap the Connect Button. In the menu bar, select Manage Device, Camera, and Remote Management. If you had checked the information, you should see that this action can be disabled by using the Toggle to Set option. However, if you selected the Manual mode, you must ensure that any action on the Camera is enabled by using the View options menu on your phone.

Step 3

Tap Yes in the Menu Bar and select All. Tap the Camera button. Wait at your phone for the button to open, then go to your phone settings menu and select Set as auto-detect.

The default settings for Camera and Remote Management do not work well, so you may wish to change them if you’re seeing them incorrectly. If you see anything, then try doing a few more simple tasks. To check the Auto-detect status of your Camera, click the image you want the camera to view as auto-detect. The settings menu will help you change the settings. When you press Enter, however, your settings menu will not be able to be displayed and you would be taken to a menu called Auto-detect.

Step 4

Tap on Enable or Disable. For further information, see How to disable certain settings on your phone. Make sure that you have your Camera set to Auto-detect. If no settings are displayed, press the Reset button. Once your Camera is set to Auto-detect, proceed in step 5.

Step 5

Press Save to restore the settings on your Camera. Open your Settings app and hit the button Go to All.

If you could not make the change you wanted in the settings menu, then you might want to move on and check you should get it listed as OK on your phone. If you do not see the OK option in the menu
