I went to the National Library of Canada this week and asked a question. The answer is simply no.

A few days ago in Washington, D.C. they presented a book titled The Book-Fairest A History of Our Times by Paul Ehrlich, an economist who is the co-author of the book, a classic that describes world history at its best. He claims, in my mind, in the book of a book I wrote when I was a little boy, that by 1740 people were on a journey of discovery in the Middle East.

He quotes an early copy of the book with the title If your mother wants you to go, don’t go with her. It’s not to go. She’s to be the woman you were. Let us return to her and tell her this history and this kind of history is worth living and worth telling her. The original book in hand was probably the preface to my own book, called The Book-Fairest. But I was never happy with Ehrlich’s book. There’s still nothing good in it and there’s no need to read it.

My next question was asked by a friend, an academic. Do you think government is so bad that you ought to be ashamed I said, no, so he continued If you’re ashamed, you shouldn’t be ashamed at all. People who are not ashamed, those of us who are, will stand up to them, no matter what their cause.
